SA: Fruit fly outbreak in SA
ADELAIDE, Dec 4 AAP - A fruit fly outbreak at a property in Adelaide's eastern suburbs
was confirmed today.
Primary Industries and Resources SA (PIRSA) said an outbreak of Mediterranean fruit
fly maggots had been discovered at a property in Millswood.
PIRSA chief executive Dennis Mutton believed the source of the outbreak was infested
fruit brought into the state "by unthinking travellers".
Households within a 400 metre radius of the source property would be contacted as treatment
on the property continued, he said in a statement.
