NSW: police chase ends in car crash and burn
SYDNEY, April 2 AAP - A 42-year-old man was in hospital after he crashed a car in ahigh speed police chase in Sydney's south-west early this morning.
The early model Commodore crashed into a parked car, rolled and burst into flames soonafter 2.10am (AEST) on Gibson Ave, Padstow, police said.
The car rolled into the front yard of a nearby home, where police extinguished thefire with garden hoses and pulled the driver from the wreckage with the help of ambulanceworkers.
Campsie police had chased the Commodore from Belmore Rd Riverview, where it was seenspeeding soon after 2.10am. (AEST)
No police officers or people inside the Gibson Ave home were injured in the accident.
A critical incident team was investigating,
The driver was taken to Liverpool Hospital where he is in stable condition, police said.
