CHAMBER NEWS City National Bank in Gloversville was named corporate sponsor for the Fulton County Regional Chamber of Commerce & Industry's 2003 annual dinner, which will be held Jan. 18 at the Holiday Inn in Johnstown. The event will feature induction of the board of directors and the presentation of awards for executive, business and ambassador of the year. DONATIONS KeyBank N.A.'s Capital Region District has pledged $225,000 to Albany Medical Center: $120,000 to support the redesign and expansion of the emergency department; $75,000 for ``Growing Our Own,'' a nursing recruitment program that helps licensed practical nurses earn an associate's degree; and $30,000 for ``Dancing in the Woods,'' a fund-raiser that benefits its child cancer program. The Arkell Hall Foundation in Canajoharie awarded $30,000 to the Amsterdam Memorial Hospital Foundation to purchase new dining room tables and chairs to furnish each of the three dining rooms in Wilkinson Center, the hospital's 160-bed nursing home. In addition, eight high-strength, lightweight wheelchairs for residents also will be purchased. GRAB BAG Ben Brizzell of Colonie, branch manager and national account coordinator for Computer Rentals of America in Colonie, was named a panelist for the National Computer Rental Association conference in Fort Lauderdale. CommSoft, an Albany-based provider of communications billing software, has sold a financial and inventory accounting package to North Central Telephone Cooperative of West Texas. The contract rounds out a suite of CommSoft products used by the rural telephone provider.
